Going to keep this short and sweet because less is more and simple is better. Here is my guide to simple style. I like to say I have less clothes and more outfits. This is because I have spent a lot of time learning how to put a simple look together and how to invest in the right pieces.
Here are 5 quick tips to simple style and maximizing a minimal wardrobe.
Invest in basics and dress them up with fun accessories. This is the entire concept of the Always Coco Collection. I invest in simple pieces and wear flare items or fun accessories to complete the look. As seen here, I have on all neutrals plus an oversized blazer and of course, the Da Vinci pendant.
Color blocking! The easiest version of this is the black and white color combo. For an easy and effortless look try a chunky oversized sweater with some black skinnies and booties.
Don’t over accessorize. More accessories doesn’t make you look more fashionable. You really don’t need, a necklace, earrings, a bracelet, fun shoes, a scarf , bright lips, etc, etc… My thought is to pick one. One that really stands out. People will notice how great that one piece is instead of being overwhelmed by the combination of everything else going on. I like to create a focal point and of course you can’t go wrong with an Always Coco rotational pendant.
Details. Details take a good outfit to a great out. Take time when you cuff your sleeve or pant leg, paint your nails, do something different with your hair. Your polished look says something about you. For my finishing touches I love the Cuffed up Rolls by @cuffedupcuffs and Opi nail polish for some finishing touches.
Balance. When in doubt I always go for one over sized item and one form fitting. Pick what you want to show off. You love your legs? Try a slowly blouse or sweater with some skinnies. Or how about your arms and shoulders? Try a strapless top and wide leg trousers.
Happy Styling!
