Trend Alert! Plaid is predicated to be another top trend in 2017 (yet again) and the oversized boyfriend blazer is a stylish way to pull it off. It gives a taste of the effortless boyfriend look, but styled properly also so very chic.
But, the blazer is not your only option for rocking the plaid trend. In fact, you really can’t go wrong in plaid if you wear it as a transitional piece. A couple of my favorite transitional plaid pieces include a skirt, this blazer and a go-to scarf. They are all easy to combine with other pieces and add a new elegant dimension to the rest of your look. I think it’s so effortlessly chic. Very Carrie Bradshaw.
Here are two quick tips to rocking plaid and the oversized blazer:
- Start Simple. If plaids new to your wardrobe just try the one piece (Like the blazer in this look) then pair it with your favorite neutrals. Plaid combined with other plaids or patterns is an entirely new styling technique to master. Less is more in this case.
- Find Balance! I always think when you’re wearing something oversized it’s chic to combine it with someone tight. Same goes with pairing patterns and neutrals. Remember, opposites attract! Here I went with the tight black crop top. But if you are new to the balancing some of my go-to’s are a skinny jean and form fitting, neutral tee.
Here’s what I am wearing plus a couple other of my favorite plaid pieces! Happy Shopping Y’all!
